Hey BilJim2
Truthfully it comes down to quite a few small things, but without ever changing the characters, ring attire, music, or anything like that they just need to go back to some simple basic pro wrestling 101 with some common sense and logic behind what they do. Instead of just going for the cheap pop or laugh design their stories to make sense without the huge holes, and give the viewers reason to want to tune in next week or by a PPV similar to any major prime time network show that is highly rated. Find a good middle ground where a wrestler earns a title shot and doesn't just get it because he happens to be standing in the right place. I could go on and on but you get the general idea. It would take time to make the change over and you would lose a few of your current viewer base, but then they lost quite a few viewer when they went in the current direction. I think it just viewing it as the different in a musical comedy about family life or a drama about family life. If the current big two are locked into musical comedy then maybe a legit third company could offer a true alternative which wouldn't actually be competing with the other two just offering a different version. I hit the road tomorrow morning and will be away from the computer till 10/13. Sincerely, Les

Hi Les, I know you've worked with Harley Race... any thoughts on his wife who passed away over the weekend? Also, ever have the chance to work with Capt. Lou who also passed away this week? (Wish I had a more cheery question)

Hey Brett
BJ Race was a dear friend, and Harley's rock. They have stayed in our home and my wife and I in theirs. I was in Philly Friday night when I heard and was totally shocked. She was so much to so many as was witnessed by the turn out of hundreds to her memorial Monday night in Eldon. I met Captain Lou only once but realize what he gave to the business, which was huge. It truly hasn't been a good week. Sincerely, Les

While I'm at it... how long do you think until TNA is finished? Russo and Bischoff pretty much killed WCW. Now they are back, along with Hogan?! That can't be a good thing (nor is it very cost effective).

Hey Brett
First thanks for the birthday wishes, and the better birthday present then Hogan and "The Bish" came last night on Peach State Pandemonium when host Rich Tate gave me a surprise birthday party and invited among others JJ Dillon, Ivan Koloff, Jerry Oates, Joyce Grable, NWA Ref Charlie Smith and wrestling historian Tom Burke from my past. Check it out on the Georgia Wrestling History site. As for the ripple effect of the latest TNA signing, it could have some positive things, but if these huge egos are allowed to over shadow the younger talent then it will hurt big time. Plus the in fighting which if it happens, and at some point I think it will is going to be more entertaining then the on air product and will help swallow up the companies progress if there is any. I'm just going to focus on the talented new signee Desmond Wolfe who spent a bunch of time with me in the gym years ago. He is a shinning light but then I may be partial. Regards, Les

I think the addition of Wolfe is HUGE for TNA. I was surprised at the push they gave him right off the bat, as I figured they would drop the ball on him as well. With the addition of him and the possible addition of Danielson, I thought they were taking a step in the right direction. Then they signed Hogan, who made a ton of tv appearances over the past few days, and he never mentioned or said the letters TNA when asked about his announcement about returning to wrestling. Hmmm.

Hi Les,
I hope all is well with you!
A question... I am going to a TNA house show this Friday.
Have I lost my mind?? OR Am I just a huge mark for Sarita, Daffney, and Hamada (who are all allegedly going to be there)?

Hey Brett
You haven't lost your mind, your just a big mark for women wrestlers ! In watching the Impact show the last several weeks I find a big percentage of the women's matches so scripted that they aren't as good as I expect. But naturally I'm looking at them through the eyes of a wrestler/trainer. Relax and enjoy yourself as I'm told the house shows are much better then the TV.
Regards, Les

Much better than tv!!?? They can't be much worse!! Can they? Plus, last time I went to a house show, Borash came out between EVERY match to play let's see who in the audience can make the biggest fool out of themselves to get the chance to go backstage. After every match!!?? LOL If nothing else, it will be an evening full of laughs.

Well, we went to the TNA show and let me say.. if you ever get the chance to attend a TNA house show.. think twice!! LOL
Styles v Daniels v Joe was the main event and didn't disappoint. Daffney v Hamada was easily the second best match of the night after the 3 way. The other matches were average at best. However, the WORST part of the show is Borash getting on the mic after EVERY MATCH trying to hype the crowd and find the "loudest, craziest fan" to give backstage passes to. Ugh.

Well Brett, at least you came away still sane and were entertained to some degree. I'm sure the three way was good, and you liked the ladies...well. because they were ladies. Several have told me that JB carrying on after every match about the loudest is hard to take as the evening wears on. However my question to you is were you one of the loudest and did you get that all important backstage pass?

No, I was not one of the loudest and now I wish I was since NONE of the ladies came out for the post show "Meet N Greet" so I never got to say hi to ANY of them! Maybe, had I lost my mind and won a pass, I would have! LOL

I'm hitting the road to spend the holidays with the wife's family in North Carolina, and then a weekend training camp in Mississippi the 27th, 28th, 29th. Hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving and maybe I'll catch up with some of you on the Gulf Coast.
